Virginia Nascimento

Biography

Virginia is in a hot vein of form. Having co-penned  the rave reviewed single "Following My Heart" with Abe Duque and mixes by DJ Hell and Tigerskin (Process Recordings/ ADR), the groover "From Above" with Butch (Area Remote), floorfiller "See My Eyes" with Marc Poppcke and mixes by Sei A (Darkroom Dubs), the deep "Trust In Me" with Steve Bug and a slowhouse version by John Daly (Pokerflat), "Our Days" with Solar& Poppcke (Plastic City), and recently the "Salsacanaca" remix of Giuseppe Cennamo with Pier Bucci (Monique Records), 2009 has been a pulsating year for her.

Her international DJ exposure includes performing at some of the world's nicest clubs, festivals and parties. For more than 4 years Virginia held the DJ residency at Flokati, the legendary Tobi Neumann House Club (KPO/ Munich) and worked next to DJ colleagues such as Ricardo Villalobos, Ian Poley, DJ Karotte, and Tiefschwarz.
During 2005 through 2008, Virginia pumped up the beat at her club night in Sven Väth´s Cocoon Club (Frankfurt am Main). Her spinning sets have been enhanced by her warm voice, with which her singing characteristics add a unique and dynamic element to the resulting music fusion.

Virginia debuted with the cowrite and performance of the singles "I Rock" and "Someday Somehow" (Kosmo Records) that topped international sales charts for weeks, followed by the theme song for a manga cartoon series and the collaboration with some of the hippest artists in club music. In 2008 Virginia Nascimento released her album "Twisted Mind" (Rough Trade) co- written and - produced by techno legend Steve B-Zet (Sven Väth/ Eye- Q Records) of which various songs were placed in movies and tv series. For 2010 the follow up singles with Butch "Mass Appeal" (Area Remote), Abe Duque and Marc Poppcke are projected.
